Daiki Kimoto carries a transparent flag with him. When the wind blows, the flag flutters, revealing the words printed on it: ‘Time spent looking at the…’. Below the text is a red line reminiscent of a YouTube progress bar.

The point of raising a flag is, first and foremost, to make positions visible. In Time Spent Looking at the…, the flag’s function shifts. It is not raised in the traditional way, but passively borne by the wind. It does not proclaim – it receives. By waiting for the wind, Kimoto creates a moment of perfect presence – a gentle countermove against a society dominated by constant communication and the urge to be seen.
